Harps and Harmonicas by Linda Escalera

In June 2020 we will be performing 12:52 The Mike Webster Story, written by Ross Howard, at the New Hazlett Theater. This play a very touching story about friendship and courage. Mike Webster, who died in 2002, was the first N.F.L. player to receive a diagnosis of chronic traumatic encephalopathy, or C.T.E. This degenerative brain disease is linked to repeated hits to the head. If ever there was a story that captures the grit, determination, and strength of the human character this is it.

The show dates are as follows: June 11, 12, 13, 19, 20, 21, 26, and 27. All show times start at 7:30 except the Sunday matinee on June 21. The Sunday Matinee show time is 2:00.

Tickets: $20.00  /  $18.00 seniors and students (At the New Hazlett Theater).

In July 2020 the Ashcat Players will be performing, The Boys Next Door, written by Tom Griffin. The Boys Next Door is a two-act comedy-drama about four intellectually disabled men who live together in a small apartment — and Jack, the caring social worker who is on the verge of career burn-out. The play is set in the Boston area and takes place over roughly a two-month period and consists of brief vignettes about the men's lives.

In September and October 2020 we will be performing, Over the River and Through the Woods, written by Joe DiPietro. The story is about a young, carefree, single bachelor in New Jersey named Nick. He spends nearly every Sunday afternoon visiting and dining with either of his two sets of grandparents, who are ethnic Italians. One Thursday Nick makes an unscheduled visit to announce that his corporate employer will be promoting and relocating him to Seattle, Washington in a few months. His grandparents are shocked, and dedicate themselves to making Nick stay. A warm-hearted, boisterously funny, and touching story about intergenerational relationships, deep familial love, and the inevitable little heartbreaks that occur as time passes and children grow. (Seats $15.00/Seniors $13.00)
