The Iron Horse Theatre Company is a 501 (c) 3 nonprofit organization that began in January of 2016. Iron Horse Theatre Company will provide opportunities for anyone in the area (you do not have to be a member of the company) who wants to attend, volunteer, help produce, and perform in any of the theatrical productions produced in the future. The Board of Directors consists of nine members. They are as follows:
London Cain is the founder of the Iron Horse Theatre Company. He has been involved in theater for over twenty-five years. He has either produced, acted, or directed in more than twenty plays and musicals; some of which include Lone Star, Dinner with Friends, The Cripple of Inishmaan, Marat/Sade, Grease, High School Musical, The Little Mermaid, and Shrek to name just a few. Currently he is a middle school reading teacher at Moon Area School District where he heads the drama program.
Scott Miller is an Investment Advisor Representative working at JMS Capital Group Wealth Services, LLC in Sewickley, PA and has over 18 years of experience in the finance industry. Scott Miller is a Certified Financial Planner (CFP®). He is very excited to be a part of the Iron Horse Theatre Company.
Michele Morris-Donner has been an actor in local theater for over 20 years. Now retired from airline flight operations, she is excited to be part of the vision, community involvement, innovative thinking, and general shenanigans of this passionate and creative group of artists.
Jessica Patterson is the Music Coordinator at Concordia at Villa St. Joseph (Baden). At the Villa Jessica directs the vocal choir and bell choir. Along with directing the ensemble, Jessica also runs music activities for the residents at the facility thoughout the week. Jessica studied music therapy at Slippery Rock University where she also took theatre classes. Jessica grew up in a theatre family and has been involved with music her whole life. Some of her directing credits include Scary Musical: The Musical, Jesus Christ Superstar, and Bonnie and Clyde. Some of her roles include Martha in Spring Awakening and Mary Flynn in Merrily We Roll Along.
Jacob Craig is an actor and director from Monroeville, Pa, now residing in Ambridge, Pa. Jacob has acted and directed at various local theatres including the Red Barn Players and the Bobcat Players. Some of his favorite roles include, Norman Hates (Scary Musical: The Musical), Bob Zelnick (Frost/Nixon), and Anthony Wilding (Enchanted April). Jacob is a recent graduate of Slippery Rock University where he studied Theatre with a concentration in Acting, and Philosophy, and was also a member of the Musical Theatre Society. Jacob currently works as a Customer Care Consultant for PNC Financial Services.
Kate Pieratt is a stage manager and production manager. She studied theatre at Centre College and has worked with various theatre companies in Pittsburgh and around the country including Playhouse on the Square (Memphis,TN) and Actors Guild of Lexington (Kentucky). A few of her most memorable productions include Seussical the Musical, The Curious Savage, and The Wild Party. She currently works at Point Park University as an academic advisor in the Conservatory of Performing Arts.
Felicia Mycyk lives and breathes her purpose of elevating others by amplifying the leader within them. She is a professional speaker and coach who helps clients reach an unprecedented level of self-leadership, empowering them to lead themselves and lead others. Felicia’s tried and true approach to leadership and community development, marketing, and public image has also garnered incredible success in revitalizing struggling communities and organizations. She facilitates D.E.C.I.DE. Leadership workshops that she created for youth and adults to inspire all to develop a stronger growth mindset.
Candace Shaffer was born and raised in Midland PA and always had a love for dance and performance. Her love for theater grew as she accepted the role of choreographer for the kids' musical theater here at Iron Horse. She is also a teacher at Moon Area School District where she teaches 5th grade ELA and Social Studies. She also assists in facilitating Iron Horse Social Media specifically Instagram. Her passions include God, family, and making a positive impact on her students' lives.
Catherine Hayashi has been involved in community theatre since she was 8 years old when she played Bombur in the improbable musical version of The Hobbit. She was never far from the stage throughout her school years and attended Ole Miss for Theatre Arts on a full merit-based scholarship. Although she's since made the career switch to social work, she continues to indulge in her love of acting. Catherine is honored to serve on the Iron Horse Board where she plans to bring her passion and dedication so it may continue to thrive and bring the joy of theatre to the people of Ambridge.
