The Iron Horse Theatre Company is a 501 (c) 3 nonprofit organization that began in January of 2016. Iron Horse Theatre Company will provide opportunities for anyone in the area (you do not have to be a member of the company) who wants to attend, volunteer, help produce, and perform in any of the theatrical productions produced in the future. The Board of Directors consists of nine members. They are as follows:
London Cain is the founder of the Iron Horse Theatre Company. He has been involved in theater for over twenty-five years. He has either produced, acted, or directed in more than twenty plays and musicals; some of which include Lone Star, Dinner with Friends, The Cripple of Inishmaan, Marat/Sade, Grease, High School Musical, The Little Mermaid, and Shrek to name just a few. Currently he is a middle school reading teacher at Moon Area School District where he heads the drama program.
Alan Hayashi took improv classes at CMU alongside electrical and computer engineering. With the support
of his wife, Catherine, he landed roles such as The Prince in
Cinderella (Stage 62), George Spelvin in Actor’s Nightmare (Misfits Theatre) and Richard in Moon Over Buffalo (R-Act Theatre.) He thanks his family for believing he could be more than an
awkward engineer.
Michele Morris-Donner has been an actor in local theater for over 20 years. Now retired from airline flight operations, she is excited to be part of the vision, community involvement, innovative thinking, and general shenanigans of this passionate and creative group of artists.
Candace Shaffer was born and raised in Midland PA and always had a love for dance and performance. Her love for theater grew as she accepted the role of choreographer for the kids' musical theater here at Iron Horse. She is also a teacher at Moon Area School District where she teaches 5th grade ELA and Social Studies. She also assists in facilitating Iron Horse Social Media specifically Instagram. Her passions include God, family, and making a positive impact on her students' lives.
Catherine Hayashi has been involved in community theatre since she was 8 years old when she played Bombur in the improbable musical version of The Hobbit. She was never far from the stage throughout her school years and attended Ole Miss for Theatre Arts on a full merit-based scholarship. Although she's since made the career switch to social work, she continues to indulge in her love of acting. Catherine is honored to serve on the Iron Horse Board where she plans to bring her passion and dedication so it may continue to thrive and bring the joy of theatre to the people of Ambridge.
