2024/25 After School Drama Club
(October 22 – April 13)
Dear Parent/Guardian and potential Drama Student,
The Iron Horse Theatre Company is about to begin production of the musical, Beauty and the Beast Jr.. Grades five through eight students who
would like to be part of this production will begin practicing at the Iron Horse Community Theatre (located at 348 Maplewood Ave. Ambridge 15003) beginning Tuesday October 22. Practice will be
after school one day a week from 4:00 to 6:00 at the Iron Horse Community Theatre. We will form three groups – Group 1 will rehearse on Tuesdays, Group 2 will rehearse on Wednesdays, and Group
3 will rehearse on Thursdays. Beginning in January 2025 we will add another day to the rehearsal schedule. At that time Group 1 will rehearse on Mondays and Tuesdays, Group 2 will rehearse on Wednesdays and Thursdays, and Group
3 will rehearse on Fridays and Saturday mornings (10am to 12 noon). The exact dates and times of all practices and performances are on
the calendar below. All students who are interested (first 20 for each group) and able to attend practices will receive a part. No auditions are necessary to join the club. All performances will be
at the end March and first two weekends of April (before spring break and PSSA testing). All practices and shows will be at the Iron Horse Community Theatre in Ambridge. Lobby and or waiting area
with WiFi and cable TV is provided for parents who want to wait at the theatre during rehearsals. Parents or guardians who are returning for pickup should be on time. Car-pooling is
encouraged.
Sign-ups:
Sign-ups begin on September 23. Simply read the statement below, and if you want your child to be part of the drama club and the Beauty and the Beast
Jr. production, write your name, the student’s name, age, school and grade, your email and phone number on or after September 23. Also, please indicate which group you want your child
to join.
• If you are not able to commit to the above schedule, please do not sign up. We don’t want someone to get a role and then drop out. This causes a lot of problems and may cost another student from
getting that role. The Iron Horse Theatre Company is willing to work with any student regardless of theatrical experience or talent. We only require hard work, a desire to do well, and a
positive attitude. Students will learn and practice dance, choreography, voice, singing, movement, acting, and memorization skills.
This drama club program is free of charge thanks to the generous donation from the Weisbrod Foundation.
